We have a great group of coaches for our summer season. Training groups will be selected based on tryouts. Scroll down to see the list of coaches and group detail.
Summer Info
Summer is a unique season. It is dominated by tournaments. Local training time is limited in summer due to the density of great events taking place in southern California. As a club, we generally use the month of June to prepare ourselves for competing in southern California in July. It is recommended that players sign up for local CBVA events in June, the coached socal events in July, and any other events they want to fit in between and around. We will not be coaching at EVERY event in socal, but players have the opportunity to play many events in a short amount of time. We recommend playing as many tournaments as you can! Below is an explanation of the different program options available to players.
Program Options and Fees
Summer training groups are divided into two main categories: Local and Travel. The Local program has one level of participation, while the Travel Program has three different levels of participation. All programs require athletes to tryout. The program options are as follows:
Travel Program
Travel Program: Players wanting to participate in our training groups must complete a tryout. Players will be selected to a coaches training group based on tryouts. This program is designed for athletes wanting to compete in socal in July. The primary goal of our 4 weeks of training in June is to prepare players and teams for July competition. This program is designed for all players to attend the AAU National Championships in Hermosa Beach. Includes June practices (4 weeks), coaching at June Santa Cruz Wednesday CBVA tournaments, and coaching at AAU National Championships, Hermosa Beach. The majority of our Travel athletes will participate at this level. Player travel, tournament registration and accommodation is not included in the program fee and is the responsibility of the players.
Training:
4 weeks (practice 3 times per week), June. 12 total practices.
Coaching at tournaments:
June Wednesday CBVA Tournaments, Main Beach, Santa Cruz. 4 local tournaments.
7/9 - 7/13: AAU National Championships, Hermosa Beach.
Travel Training Program Fee WV: $1050
Travel Training Program Fee SC: $950
BVCA Program: Teams will be selected by the club. We will receive a limited number of bids in each age group. Players interested in competing for the club should express their interest directly to club director Lucas Bol. Players must be participating in the travel program to be eligible for the BVCA. One coach to three team minimum ratio for tournament coaching. All teams will receive The BVCA program is in addition to our travel group. Included is: BVCA registration, and BVCA coaching.
BVCA Program Fee: Add $500
AAU JOs Program: AAU JOs requires an AAU bid. Players who have earned a bid are eligible for this program. Program includes coaching at AAU JOs. AAU JOs is an additional cost to our travel program that includes coaching at AAU JOs. One coach to three team minimum ratio for tournament coaching.
BVCA Program Fee: Add $500
Local Program
Local Program: Players wanting to participate in our training groups must complete a tryout. Players will be selected to a coaches training group based on tryouts. This program is designed for athletes not planning to travel to socal for extended periods in July. Players in this program will receive a longer season of training and practices over summer. This is a seven week program. Includes June and July practices (7 weeks) and coaching at Santa Cruz Wednesday CBVA tournaments during the seven weeks of the program. Players are responsible for tournament registration.
Training:
7 weeks (practice 2 times per week), June and July. 14 practices.
Coaching at tournaments:
Wednesday CBVA Tournaments, Main Beach, Santa Cruz. 7 tournaments.
Local Training Program 2 Day Fee SC: $700
Local Training Program 3 Day Fee SC: $850
Local Training Program Fee WV: $800
Below is the list of coached club events we will be attending. Note that the BVCA is a bid event, and the club will be choosing which players will represent the club in it.

Travel Tournaments:
Coaches will be in southern California 7/9 - 7/21. Depending on bids and player preference, the list of events below can be modified to fit a player and coaches schedule. Please use this list as an indicator of the events coaches and club will be coaching at. Note that overlap is generally due to staggered age groups, so most events listed do not overlap.
7/9 - 7/13: AAU National Championships, Hermosa Beach
7/11: CBVA Tour Stop Manhattan Beach, Rosecrans
7/13: CBVA Tour Stop Manhattan Beach Pier 12U, 16U
7/14: CBVA Tour Stop Manhattan Beach Pier 14U, 18U
7/14 - 7/18: BVCA National Championships, Hermosa Beach (requires club bid)
